Integrated Lodging Program Pilot to Expand
On January 1, 2016, the Integrated Lodging Program Pilot will expand to six additional pilot sites and the listing of approved DoD Preferred commercial lodging properties will change.
As of 1 January, travelers who are TDY to the following locations (as well as the current pilot locations) will be directed to DoD (government) lodging or DoD Preferred commercial lodging before selecting another lodging option:
- Fort Lee/Petersburg, VA – Fort Lee
- Hampton, VA – Joint Base Langley-Eustis
- Newport News, VA – Fort Eustis
- Quad City, IL - Rock Island Arsenal
- Suffolk, VA
- York/Williamsburg, VA – Yorktown Facility
Additionally, the program will see changes to the specific DoD Preferred properties that participate in the program. Each year hotels have an opportunity to apply to participate in the DoD Preferred Lodging Program Pilot for the next calendar year. Even those hotels that already participate must reapply annually. All commercial hotels must meet DoD standards for quality, safety and security, offer rates below per diem, and provide certain amenities and travel protections to participate.
The official list of pilot locations and other program information is available on the Defense Travel Management Office website at: http://www.defensetravel.dod.mil/site/lodging.cfm. Additional program information was also published in the Fall 2015 Defense Travel Dispatch that can be found at: http://www.defensetravel.dod.mil/Docs/Dispatch/Defense_Travel_Dispatch_Fall_2015.pdf.
