Learn More about the New DTS User Interface

The DTS User Experience (UX)/User Interface (UI) software update was implemented on January 23, 2018.  All users have access to the new DTS homepage, privacy page and document listing.  The redesigned reservation screens are also available to those users in the limited launch user group.

All UX/UI screens are available in the Enterprise Web Training System (EWTS).  As planned, the redesigned reservation screens will be available on February 2, 2018 to all remaining users not in the limited launch user group.

This DTS software update is the first of a series that will modernize the look and feel of the Defense Travel System (DTS), and improve navigation and usability.  It will bring new graphics and an improved layout aimed at making it more user friendly, easier to navigate and view reservation options, and to track your progress in building a travel authorization.

Note:  Personnel whose organizations use the DTS Import/Export feature, meaning their travel orders are created by an order-writing system (e.g., AROWS, NROWS), will continue to use the legacy itinerary, reservations, and expense screens in DTS until further notice.

To get a better understanding of what is changing, the following resources are available:

  • Short demos of the redesigned screens
  • Bi-weekly Travel Assistance Center Outreach Calls for DTAs – Calls are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month. For instructions on how to participate or to view slides from past calls, see the TAC Outreach announcement posted in Travel Explorer, (www.defensetravel.dod.mil/passport).
