1. Who provides training for transporters?

The U.S. Army Transportation School at Fort Lee, VA.  The education and training programs provide the skills and knowledge required by enlisted soldiers, warrant and commissioned officers, Uniformed Services members and Federal civilian transporters.  Please see information available on their website at U.S. Army Transportation School at Fort Lee.

2. Who provides training for the Joint Travel Regulations affecting uniformed personnel and DoD civilian employees, and GSA's Federal Travel Regulation (FTR) affecting virtually all Executive Branch civilian employees?

The General Services Administration provides various JTR training courses in addition to GSA’s FTR training courses (at cost) to members and civilian employees.   PDTATAC staff periodically review GSA’s JTR related training materials for regulations compliance.  GSA’s training courses further extend to fiscal and transportation topics.  Please see GSA website for more information.

3. Who within DoD provides training for the JTR for DoD members and civilian employees?

Defense Travel Management Office (DTMO) provides various JTR related training courses to DoD members and civilian employees.  The online courses are provided at no cost to the participants.  Please see DTMO website for more information.  PDTATAC staff reviews JTR related training materials for regulations compliance IAW DoD 5154.29 issuance.
PDTATAC staff comments: Training programs intent is to teach or refresh the participating attendees’ knowledge of JTR regulations.  The JTR prevails if the training materials conflict with the regulations.  Please notify the course instructor/program manager or contact the responsible POC within your organization to validate questionable course materials.  If unknown, contact the responsible Civilian or Military Advisory Panel (CAP/MAP) representative for your Agency/Service for further assistance.  Refer to MAP/CAP Contact List for the information.
