On-Site Travel Training Services

Travel Training Services are now available for delivery at your location. For a flat fee* you will receive:

  • Two instructors
  • Four days of training to include any combination of the courses offered (see course list below)

* Cost includes TDY travel costs. Different rates apply for CONUS and OCONUS locations.

Introduction to Defense Travel Administration
The Defense Travel Administration (DTA) course is a three day, hands-on class that provides instruction on ODTA functions (e.g., updating people and routing lists). Instruction on the DTA Maintenance Tool, self-registration, document processing and route and review procedures are included. The course will also include instruction on reports, cancellation procedures, best practices and help desk trouble-shooting to address frequently encountered problems.
Class Duration - Three days from 0800 to 1600
Recommended Audience: New DTAs

PowerPack: How to Effectively Train Your Travel Community
The PowerPack is a comprehensive course providing preparation guidelines and training strategies for instruction of DTS to others. Class will emphasize document processing, reaching infrequent travelers, and enhancing training materials. Attendees taking this class should expect to leave with a series of skills and tips to assist in training DTS. Class includes demonstration of Authorization, Voucher and Route/Review to model training techniques. Prerequisite: Attendees expected to have a familiarity with creating an authorization/voucher (either through use or through the web demonstrations).
Class Duration � 1 Day from 0800 to 1600
Recommended Audience: DTAs/Trainers

Advanced Topics in Defense Travel Administration
The Advanced Travel Administration course is designed to enhance DTS support within your travel community. This course focuses on best practices, reports, cancellation procedures, help desk support, trouble shooting to address frequently encountered problems and how to partner with the commercial travel office. This course can be customized to meet your organizations additional needs.
Class Duration � 1 Day from 0800 to 1600
Recommended Audience: Experienced DTAs/Local Help Desk Representatives

Traveler Training
The Traveler Training course is a hands-on class that provides instruction on creating and signing an authorization, voucher, and local voucher. If requested, instruction can be included to provide training on Non-DTS Entry Agent (NDEA) functions.
Class Duration - 3 Hours Recommended Audience: Travelers

Authorizing Official/Reviewing Official Training
The Authorizing Official (AO)/Reviewing Official (RO) Training course provides a comprehensive overview on the responsibilities and fiscal liabilities of the AO/RO. Instruction includes reviewing and signing travel documents.
Class Duration � 2 hours
Recommended Audience: AOs/ROs
